Mt Clemens, Mich. (NASCAR) -Aug. 18:  Big Tiny Lund took the lead in the Grand National East point standings from defending champion Neil Castles by winning the Mt. Clemens 100 at Mt. Clemens, Speedway.

Lund, driving a Camaro, battled Bruce Gould throughout the entire race. Gould won the pole position in his Ford and led the first  92 laps of the 100-lapper before the Cross, S.C. veteran was able to pass him and take the victory.

Coming in third was Jeff Faber in a Camero and Ron Hutcherson was fourth in his Ford. Castles finished 11th in his Howard Furniture Dodge.
