Memphis TN - Veteran NASCAR driver Neil Castles won the Maryville 200 Grand National East race at Smokey Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn.  Dave Marcis was the fastest qualifier for the event and dominated the race until he was sidelined by engine failure on lap 183. This was the second win of the season for the 38 year old Charlotte, N.C. native.
 
Marcis would up in 11th position with Houston driver H.B. Bailey, Gary Myers, Elmo Langley and hometown driver L.D. Ottinger rounding out the top-five.  Castles won $1,450 for his efforts for the night.
